Oxana Shevchenko

OXANA SHEVCHENKO was born in Almaty, the capital of Kazakhstan in 1987 and studied at the Special Music School at Kazakh State Conservatory from 1994–2002.

In 2002 she entered the college at Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, and in 2005 began to study at Moscow State Conservatory with professor Elena Kuznetsova and currently she is a post-graduate in the same class.

She won the special prize at V. Horowitz International Piano Competition  in 1997 in Ukraine, second prize at the P. Serebryakov International Piano Competition in Russia in 2002, was winner of the B. Dvarionas International Piano Competition in Vilnius, Lithuania in 2004 (with a special prize for the best interpretation of 20th-century music), won third Prize at Sendai International Music Competiton in Japan in 2007 (with a special prize for the best interpretation of the 20th century concerto) and won the public prize at Panama International Piano Competition in 2008.

She was awarded fourth prize, the International Music Critic Prize and a Special Prize for the best interpretation of F.Busoni's work, at the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition in Italy and third Prize in the International China Shanghai Piano Competition in China, both in 2009.

In 2010 Oxana won the first prize at the Scottish International Piano Competition in Glasgow, UK, where she has received  a grand piano Bluethner, like a part of her prize.
 
Oxana performed in Music Festivals in Troizk (Russia, 2010), Almaty (Kazakhstan, 2000-2002), Panama-city (2008), Santa Fe de Bogota (Columbia, 2008), Moscow (2004-2009), Frankfurt-am-Main (Germany, 2008).

She participated in master-classes with Pavel Egorov, Vladimir Krainev, Boris Bloch and Paul Badura-Skoda.

Oxana made her debut with Kazakh State Symphony Orchestra at the age of nine, playing Mozart piano concerto No.21 and Polunin Variations for piano and orchestra.

At the same age she gave her first recital, playing  Tchaikovsky "The seasons".

She has since given many solo and concerto performances worldwide, most notably concerts in Columbia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Panama, Portugal, Russia, Syria and Ukraine.
 
In 2010 Oxana recorded CD with works of Mozart, Liszt, Shostakovich and Ravel for Delphian records.
 
In addition to his solo work, Oxana Shevchenko enjoys performing chamber music. His chamber music partners  includes Copelman-quartet, Brodsky-quartet, Narek Hakhnazarian (cello).
