Moisès Fernández
Via
Born in Barcelona on February 1980. He began his
musical education at the age of ten with Josefina Rigolfas,
and made his public debut on 1993 in the French city of Agen,
where the press acclaimed him
as: “un nom qu’il faudra retenir! ”.
Between 1999 and
2005 he studied in the class of Imre Rohmann at the University
Mozarteum in Salzburg, as a winner of
the Catalan Government scholarships.
During this academic period he worked with the Hagen Quartet,
the Lied duo Mitsuko Shirai and Hartmut Höll, and
the musicologist Siegbert Rampe; becoming his master degree
in piano and chamber music “Mit Auszeichnung” (with
honors).
He took part in the compositions seminars of Reinhard Febel,
and studied conducting with Carl Høgset.
Since 2003 he receives artistic orientation from Maria
João Pires in the centre for the Arts and the Music “Belgais”,
in Portugal.
He was an acclaimed winner of the 2001 Scarlatti
International Piano Competition in Naples (Italy), before
winning many
prizes and distinctions in competitions like spanish Jeneusses
Musicales, Joan Massià International Piano Competition
in Barcelona, Josefine Verdet Competition in Barcelona,
International Piano Prize in Berga, Youth Musicians National
Competiton Villafranca de los Barros, Paper de Música
Promotion Award, and Andorra International Piano Competition. On 2001 he made his debut at the “Palau de la Música
Catalana” in Barcelona together with the National
Chamber Orchestra of Andorra, becoming the critic’s
prize for his performance of Mozart’s K.449.
Invited from the Instituto Cervantes he represented Spain
at the II European Youth Music Festival with different
recitals along the Italian geography. A regular guest in different Spanish Concert Halls and
Festivals, his concert activity brought him to Germany,
France, Austria, Italy, Portugal, Israel and Morocco.
He performed in the Palau de la Música Catalana
in Barcelona, the Mozarteum, the Leopoldskron Castle and
the Steinway-Haus in Salzburg, the Rokoko-Saal in Ausburg,
the Hamburg Laieszhalle, the Auditorium Ciccolini and the
Institut Grenoble in Naples, the Culture Ministerium in
Rabat and the Belgais Center in Portugal, among others;
together with the National Orchestra of Andorra, the Camerata
Gaudi and the Opus111 Quartet.
He deserves a special attention to chamber music, specially
to the Lied duo with the soprano Nuria Orbea, and the
partnership of the violinist Joanna Kamenarska and the guitarrist Eliot
Fisk.
He created and directed artistically different musical
projects as “Música a l’Hospital” which
brings a musical and concert reality at the Pediatric Hospital
Vall Hebron in Barcelona, or the Capellades Chamber Music
Summer Academy in partnership with the Casals Quartet. |
